For High School Students in Camp Verde, Prescott Valley, and Cottonwood, AZ, and Virtually Anywhere
At Northern Arizona Academic Services, we believe it is important to tutor, mentor, and prepare our students. We want our students to thrive in their education. That’s why we offer academic tutoring services, test preparation tutoring services, and tutoring services for our students after they graduate. Northern Arizona Academic Services has the pleasure of servicing students at our three in-person campuses located in Camp Verde, Prescott Valley, and Cottonwood, AZ. But we also offer our services all over Arizona and virtually anywhere!
Academic Tutoring Services
Our 1:1 tutoring services are specifically geared toward high school students in Camp Verde, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, and surrounding areas that are enrolled in our partner school, Arizona Jr./Sr. High School. Regardless of the reason why students have fallen behind their classmates, our tutors aim to bring them up to speed and then maintain forward progress. With individual attention and a customized tutoring program, some students even move past their peers.
Our tutoring services cover all of the academic subjects students are taking as part of their high school curriculum – Math, Science, English, History, and even electives. Tutoring can be done virtually online or in-person, depending on the student’s needs and preference. Some are even tutored by phone or via social media. Throughout the tutoring process, our tutors personalize their teaching methodology to match each student’s learning style. This enables teachers to connect with students at their level of learning and fosters academic growth.
Tutoring For Test Preparation
School exams are meant to measure a student’s understanding and mastery of a particular topic or subject. Unfortunately, some students perform poorly on exams, not necessarily because they don’t know the material but because they get nervous or have poor test taking skills.
With 1:1 tutoring, we’re able to assess how well students know the subject matter as well as how they react to testing situations. First, our tutors work with each student to help them gain a greater understanding of the material being presented. Then, with the tutor’s help, students work on developing appropriate study skills, organizational tactics, and test taking strategies to strengthen their weaknesses and build confidence. Our goal is to help students learn appropriate skills and gather necessary tools to help them be successful on and beyond test day.
Many of our students utilize our tutoring services to prepare for high school exams in subjects such as math, science, or history. However, we also assist students with preparing for college admissions testing or ASVAB testing prior to enlisting in the military.
Tutoring Services For Life After High School
Unfortunately, many tutoring companies only support students up until high school graduation. At Northern Arizona Academic Services, however, we know that life after high school can be challenging to some. That’s why we go the extra mile with our students to make sure they’re fully prepared for what comes next.
Students choosing to continue their education by attending a college, university, or vocational school often utilize our tutoring services to prepare for the admissions process. This includes admissions testing as well as filling out admission forms, writing essays, or completing requests for financial aid, such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Other students choose to enter the workplace immediately after high school. Utilizing our tutoring services, students learn how to effectively fill out employment applications to showcase their strengths and increase their chances of getting hired.
